Visual arts and design selective stream
Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design embraces the creative processes inherent across all subjects and courses to develop students’ academic skills and build deep knowledge.
For creative students with talent and special interests in Visual Arts and Design, the school offers a selective stream with additional opportunities to engage with artistic and design processes.
Successful applicants have demonstrated talent across a variety of creative mediums and have specialised art and design opportunities to extend their creative talents.
Applications for the Visual arts and design selective stream for Year 7, 2027 will open March 2026.
Applications for Year 8, 2026 Visual Arts and Design Stream have now closed.
Selection Criteria
Applications for the selective Visual Arts and Design Specialist Stream are portfolio and interview-based. Students will be required to present a body of work during the interview. The body of work is required to be:
- the student’s own work produced within the last 18 months
- 4 to 6 original pieces of student’s artwork and/or design projects demonstrating experiences using a variety of mediums
Applicants are assessed on their ability to demonstrate knowledge, achievement and capacity in visual arts and design.
