Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design has 3 Support Unit classes for students with diverse needs.

Our Support unit is dedicated to providing a diverse range of educational opportunities, tailored to meet the unique needs of our students.

We believe in holistic education, and our students actively participate in all aspects of school activities e.g. assemblies, swimming and athletics carnival, camps and special event days. In the Support unit, we're committed to empowering every student on their educational journey, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive.

The Support unit caters to students diverse needs by offering:

Learning in the support unit

Individual Learning Plans (ILP)
In Term 1, teachers conduct ILP meetings in consultation with parents/carer and other relevant stakeholders. At these meetings individualised goals related to student learning and wellbeing are established. These plans are reviewed in Term 4 each year.
Curriculum
All students follow the NESA Life Skills curriculum and have the option to access either the mainstream curriculum or Life Skills outcomes.
Allied Health Support
Parents/carers can request to have an NDIS funded service delivered at school. Access to the school by externally funded providers is at the discretion of the principal.

Work experience programs

These programs are available for students who are in Years 11 and 12. This also includes travel training using all forms of Public Transport including buses, trains, light rail and the Metro line.
