Dobell Drawing School Workshop Update

dobell drawing school students

Previously, we reported four of our VA Year 11 Students were accepted to participate in one of the five Dobell Drawing School Workshops on offer.

Term 2 has kicked off with a busy time for Visual Arts.

During the vacation prior to Term 2, four of our Year 11 students Ellie, Noah, Priya and Vee Jei participated in the Dobell Drawing School at the National Art School (NAS).

The students had the opportunity to participate in either Life Drawing or Expressive Drawing classes. The students were thrilled with the results of their work and the experience of being at the National Art School and meeting students from across NSW.

We are very appreciative that our affiliation with NAS ensures our students have an opportunity to engage with these workshops.

Congratulations to Year 11 students Priya and Julia have been invited to participate in the HSC Intensive Studio Practice Workshops.

The NAS HSC Intensive Studio Practice is endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority and has been offered by NAS to Year 11 Visual Arts students in all government and non-government high schools since 2000.
This course is designed for students from both government and non-government seeking to further their studies in Visual Arts in Year 12 and beyond to tertiary level and who are considering a career in the Visual Arts. Applicants must be nominated by their Visual Arts teacher and must be those who are achieving at the highest level of excellence in their Preliminary Course and who demonstrate a mature attitude to their studies.
This is a valued opportunity for high achieving Visual Arts students from across NSW to attend two weeks of intensive studio practice in their chosen area of interest, where the National Art School artists/instructors will support the students in developing their Body of Works, for their HSC year.

Congratulations, once again to our Year 11 students who have participated in these amazing extension programs that provide real-world experience within a creative tertiary learning environment.
