High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE)
At Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design, our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program is dedicated to nurturing the unique talents of gifted students. Through a personalised and enriched curriculum, our HPGE program empowers students to realise their academic and artistic potential and become visionary creators and leaders in the community.
Visual Arts and Design Specialisation
Our Visual Arts and Design specialisation offers a dynamic and inspiring environment where creatively gifted learners are challenged to deepen their skills, engage in innovative projects, and explore advanced concepts. In addition, we have Academic Design and Enrichment classes that provide opportunities for the students to interact and learn with similarly gifted students in an academically challenging and stimulating environment.

Academic Design and Enrichment
At Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design our ADEC classes provide opportunities for the students to interact and learn with similarly gifted students in an academically challenging and stimulating environment. Thus, creating opportunities for extension, enrichment activities and deeper learning. Higher-order learning strategies challenge and engage students, ensuring their academic needs are met. Additionally, academically gifted students participate in various co-curricular activities, including problem solving Intensives, The Big Science Competition and Math and STEM Challenges. Students in the ADEC classes have the opportunity to engage in.
ADEC classes will have the opportunities to:
- Engage in external competitions and challenges
- Annual showcase of student achievement
- Take part in intensive enrichment days each semester
Academic Design Enrichment Class
New Educational Opportunity (NEO) Electives
HPGE programs are evident throughout the school, giving students the opportunity to explore and develop skills in their chosen area. We reward application and nurture talent across all four domains, providing gifted students with the tools to shine. Our New Educational Opportunities (NEO) electives (Years 8-10) give students the opportunity to explore interests or passions in a discipline of their choosing, courses include:
- Cartooning and animation
- Philosophy
- Graphic Design
- Ceramics
- Photography
- STEAM
- Music Production
