Congratulations to our Volleyball Team for coming 2nd in their age group - this was the first tournament that our students have competed in and what a stellar performance it was
On Tuesday 23rd March, we had a team of Yr 9 and 10 boys who went off to compete at the NSW Volleyball School's Cup at Sydney Olympic Park. School teams from across NSW and all denominations came to compete.
This was the first tournament that our students have competed in and what a stellar performance they all gave.
· Our boys played five games all up on the day.
· They started strong in the pool rounds ending up second in our pool.
· In the semi-finals, the boys played St Gregory's College Campbelltown and narrowly won.
· In the final play off for first and second, the boys went up against our rivals, Tempe HS.
· While it was an incredibly close game, Tempe ended up winning the gold.
Tempe have been competing in many tournaments so had more experience than our boys, but our boys proved we are a force to be reckoned with.
Our boys played so well and were incredibly deserving of the Silver Medal they won. We are already planning how we will beat Tempe for the next School's Cup tournament in May.
