Applying for Non-local Enrolment
To apply for non-local enrolment, phone the school and speak to Administration regarding applying for non-local enrolment places in your child's year. This Application Form (pdf 579 KB) is a requirement for all enrolments into a NSW Government school (specialist stream and general enrolment).
The school will request and review documentation to determine the suitability, interest and the capacity of the applicant and consider applicants based on the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Demonstrated capacity to meet designated criteria based on Visual Arts and Design. Applicants may be required to provide evidence of ability in visual arts and design.
- Performance reflecting abilities, achievement and interest in the relative fields of creative and performing arts. Applicants may be required to provide evidence of ability in creative and performing arts.
- Demonstrated educational effort, achievement and commitment to learning reflecting the values and ethos of Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design.
- Demonstrated and potential for both independent and collaborative learning.
- Consideration of other factors could include:
- siblings already enrolled at the school
- compassionate circumstances of a serious nature
- curriculum offerings at Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design to extend the special abilities, aptitudes and interests of students
- the capacity of the school to support the student after an appraisal of the student's needs and availability of support services at other locations
- structure, organisation and curriculum of the school.
Year 6 into 7 enrolments: If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 in a public primary school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our school in Year 7 of the following year, contact the Year 6 Coordinator at your current school to obtain an Expression of Interest form to complete and return to them. To be considered you must put Dulwich HSVAD as option 1 on this form. The primary school will forward the information to us and we will contact you once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and next steps.
If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 in a non-government primary school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our school in Year 7 of the following year, contact us to obtain an Expression of Interest form to complete and return to us. We will contact you once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and next steps.
Year 8 to 12 enrolments: If your child is currently enrolled in another public or non-government high school and you wish to apply to enrol in our school, please contact us for further information..
